Slightly thinner than alkyd gel, alkyd flow medium reduces drying time and increases the transparency and flow of oil colour, allowing paint to be brushed out more smoothly.
- Mediums are essential for some types of painting, eg. thinners for oil painting.
- By its very nature, oil colour is incompatible with water and dissolves only in turpentine, white spirit or low-odour thinners.
